The research shows the best thing you can do is break sedentary behaviour. Even if every night you would just go for a 20-minute walk in the evening before dinner, that would be a positive thing.

If you’re really short on time and want to optimize your workout’s impact, then HIIT workouts might be the way to go.

There is proof, in terms of time, that HIIT provides more bang for your buck, Lawson says. So if you’re just 20 minutes away then try to do something more aggressively. There is no excuse to say you’re too busy because we all have 20 minutes, do we?

3. Teammates Will Help

It can be helpful to get together with others who are looking to lose weight or lower their body fat percentage, whether it’s playing sport or simply talking about your approach to fat loss in general.

Consider joining a local sports club,” Lawson says, “or just finding someone else with the same interests or goals and doing so with them, and you’re more likely to sustain them over time because you don’t want to let anyone else down. If you’re just signing up for a gym, you have to be really motivated, because you don’t have to let anyone down but you.
